JT Cornelius finished in 2nd Place, and Robert Woodcock and Eddie Hummel both placed 3rd, as the Rams brought home three medals from Atlantic City. It is the first time since 2014, that the Rams have had multiple medal winners at States.

Once again, the Rams lead the Shore Conference with the most State Qualifiers, sending eight to the boardwalk. Leading the charge will be their three Region 8 Champs: Robert Woodcock, who won his 2nd title, Jayson Scerbo, and Conor Collins, who became the first freshman in Southern Regional's near 60-year history to win a Region Title.

Down Low (106-132): Senior Jayson Scerbo was a District and Region runner-up last season, and finished two wins away from a medal in Atlantic City. He provides senior leadership for this deep group of talent. Another returning starter is junior Matt Brielmeier, who also placed 2nd at Districts. The lowerweights are rounded out by group with varsity experience in sophomores Pat Iacoves, Chris Lubeski, and Nate Bischoff, and junior Christian Rivera. The Rams also have sophomore Kellen Bischoff, and talented freshman Conor Collins who should make an immediate impact at 106.

In The Middle (138-160): The middleweights are highlighted by returning starter, and recent Air Force Academy commit, Robert Woodcock and newcomer Eddie Hummel. Woodcock is coming off a 2019 in which he won 33 matches, and claimed the D29 and R8 Titles. Hummel, a transfer from Roselle Park, won 38 bouts last season, was the D13 Champ, 2nd in R4, and 6th in NJ. The middleweights should be rounded out by sophomore Nik Lawson, junior Evan Graczyk, and senior Jason Sari, who all saw time in the lineup last season. Also in the fold is highly regarded freshman, Cole Velardi.


Up Top (170-Hwt): The Rams return great experience up top led by the senior foursome of Ben LoParo, JT Cornelius, Gabe Murray, and Jayden Smith. Cornelius won 38 bouts on his way to a D29 Title, and a 2nd place finish at Regions. LoParo, a 26-match winner, was a runner-up at Districts. Smith, who won 16 bouts last season, was a District medalist in 2018. Bolstering this group of returners is the addition of junior Stephen Jennings, who won 19 bouts last season at Barnegat.

Long-time assistant Dan Roy takes over for John Stout, and inherits a Southern squad that is, once again, loaded. There are proven big guns, impact newcomers, and talented youngsters up and down the lineup. While the dual season ended on the highest of highs: Group 5 Champions, you have to think this team is definitely gunning to get back the A-South Title. There's really no specific dates on the calendar to circle, as the slate is loaded. From the A-South opponents, to the Hunterdon Central Invitational, to the War On The Shore in Maryland, to out of conference duals with Phillipsburg, High Point, South Plainfield, etc. the Rams will be tested and ready to defend their Sectional and Group Titles, and have another strong individual post-season showing.
